Key findings

  • More than half (55%) of social pension schemes are implemented in middle-income countries, including one fifth (19%) in lower-middle-income countries.
  • This shows that social pensions are implemented across a wide range of economic contexts and are not concentrated in high-income countries.

Even though the amount is low, it is very useful for me. Before, I felt depressed when I was sick, but now I can take medicine and buy things, as I prefer. Now, I am happy.
