09/10/2008 Governments commit to action on ageing Just one week after HelpAge International’s Age Demands Action campaign, older people worldwide have secured firm commitments from governments to improve ageing policies and practices in their countries. Delegations in over 36 countries met with ministers and heads of state around the UN International Day of Older People on Wednesday 1 October. They have called for recognition and support of older people’s vital role in society.
