Welcome to #OlderNotOver

Ready to change how the world sees and treats older people?

#OlderNotOver is our three-year campaign that will champion a fuller, more authentic portrayal of what life really looks like after 60, from America to Zimbabwe.

Why are we doing it?

The world is changing. It’s getting older, rapidly. By 2030, one in six of us will be 60 or above. In countries like Japan and Italy, that figure becomes one in three.

Imagine how different society will look and feel with a third of us being older. A huge change is coming.

And older people are changing too.

They’re living longer, healthier lives.

They have raised children, grandchildren, villages and voices. And they’re not done yet.

The trouble is, our stereotypes and our systems have yet to catch up with this new older generation.

But if more people realised that we’re #OlderNotOver, we would have a far better chance of creating a world that works for all ages.

We're #OlderNotOver and we're just getting started

Four things you can do

We’re calling on every member in the global HelpAge network to help change how the world sees and treats older people.  But you don’t have to be a member of the global network to get involved. If you want to grow older in a world that doesn’t demonise and penalise people once they get to 60, we’d love to have you on board.

Together, we can create a powerful movement that truly champions older age in all its glory.

#OlderNotOver is a contribution to the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021–2030) – a global collaboration to improve the lives of older people, their families, and their communities.
