HelpAge International is seeking an experienced fundraising and partnerships professional to lead resource mobilisation and strategic partnership development for the Africa Ageing Conference, a flagship biennial platform focused on advancing ageing-inclusive development across Africa.
The postholder will be responsible for developing and managing the conference funding pipeline, cultivating donors and sponsors, securing strategic partnerships, and creating compelling funding proposals and investment cases. The role will drive external engagement, donor stewardship, and partnership development to ensure the successful delivery and long-term impact of the conference.
The ideal candidate should possess substantial experience in fundraising, business development, donor engagement, or strategic partnerships within an international or regional context. They should demonstrate a strong track record of securing funding, managing donor pipelines, developing partnership opportunities, and engaging senior stakeholders. Experience supporting major conferences, campaigns, or multi-stakeholder initiatives is highly desirable. Knowledge of African regional institutions, international development, and issues related to ageing, inclusion, social protection, or humanitarian action would be an advantage. Additional language skills in French, Portuguese, or Arabic are desirable.
