This policy brief crisis explores how climate change and global population ageing are converging, and why climate adaptation must better recognise and include older people. Drawing on evidence and examples from around the world, the paper highlights the barriers that exclude older people from climate policy, finance and decision-making, while showing how their knowledge, leadership and experience can contribute to more effective climate action. It sets out practical recommendations for making climate adaptation more age-responsive, inclusive and equitable.
