Ukraine: rapid needs assessment of displaced older people

Since the Russian military offensive against Ukraine was launched on 24 February, over 8 million people have been displaced, and a significant number of those who have fled their homes are older people (60+).
This assessment analyses the specific needs and challenges older people face while being displaced by the war in Ukraine. It provides key findings, observations, and a detailed analysis of the many difficulties they confront.
As older people are often overlooked by the humanitarian sector, this information can help adapt humanitarian programmes during the Ukraine war to mitigate that risk.
