The Trustee at HelpAge International will serve in a voluntary, non‑remunerated capacity and play a vital role in providing leadership, oversight and accountability. As a UK‑registered charity, the Board holds ultimate responsibility for directing the organisation’s affairs, ensuring it is well governed, financially sound and delivering the charitable outcomes for which it exists. In line with charity law, Trustees collectively uphold the core duties of compliance, care and prudence.
The ideal candidate should possess strong strategic insight and relevant professional expertise, particularly in areas such as governance, financial management, risk, public policy, international development and issues affecting ageing populations. Equally important are personal qualities including commitment to the organisation’s mission, sound judgement, strategic thinking, integrity, and the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse and international Board.
To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter to jobs@helpage.org by 14 March 2026, detailing how you fulfil the role description and personal specification. The position of Trustee is voluntary but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. Please note that a UK based, strategic finance specialist is required for this role.
