The Senior Finance Business Partner at HelpAge International, you will shape and design specific activities that are relevant at any point in time. Your role involves shaping and designing specific activities collaboratively with colleagues to deliver impactful results and respond to opportunities. You will create a teamwork plan to drive initiatives, develop ideas, and ensure cross-organizational cooperation. This will help you devise an individual work plan for daily activities and performance reviews. As a senior Finance Business Partner, you will engage with 50-60 active partners managing 90-100 projects and £13-15m of funding. Key responsibilities include developing and assessing donor-funded proposals, ensuring proper budgeting, monitoring co-funding, supporting partner capacity, managing fraud prevention, building financial capacity, reviewing accounts, producing reports, and managing audits. Additionally, you’ll manage project accountants, share management accounts, address financial issues, and support partner cash flow.
The ideal candidate should have a qualification with a major accounting body, hands-on experience with implementing partners in international projects, and expertise in developing budget proposals, managing donor contracts, preparing financial reports, and coordinating audits. You should be skilled in supporting non-finance staff, working strategically on funding, identifying risks, supervising teams, and managing humanitarian response finances. Proficiency in English is essential, with Spanish being desirable, along with experience using the SUNS system and the ability to travel overseas at short notice.
