HelpAge International collaborates globally to support millions of older people, ensuring their safety, dignity, and health across 90 countries. Despite their vulnerability, older people are often overlooked in humanitarian responses, leading to significant risks. Türkiye faces demographic changes and hosts a large refugee population, including many older Syrians facing isolation and health challenges.
The research aims to advocate for age-inclusive humanitarian action, focusing on the impact of Age Inclusion Specialists within the Turkish context. It will assess the effectiveness of dedicated specialists in promoting inclusive practices and coordination among stakeholders. The study will employ pre-post research methods, qualitative interviews, and case studies to evaluate the specialists’ impact and propose adjustments for improvement, targeting dissemination to humanitarian stakeholders worldwide.
