HelpAge International has announced the appointment of Rhea Tariq as its new Director of Global Impact.

Rhea brings more than 20 years of strategic and operational management experience to the role, having worked in humanitarian and development programmes across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

This experience is complemented by a comprehensive knowledge and strong commitment to HelpAge and its work to improve the rights and wellbeing of older people. Rhea worked at HelpAge between 2012-2015 in various roles in the humanitarian team and returned in 2019 as Global Head of Network Development and Coordination.

I'm thrilled to be rejoining HelpAge International at this critical juncture as we confront the profound global challenge of population ageing. With one-fifth of the world's population projected to be over 60 by 2050, the urgency of our mission is clear. I look forward to collaborating with our talented team and network members worldwide to drive transformative change in societal perceptions of ageing and to foster a broader movement for their rights and well-being.
