HelpAge International is proud to announce that we have joined the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) Global Network for Age-Friendly Cities and Communities (GNAFCC) as an affiliate member. This marks an important step in our mission to build inclusive, supportive environments where older people everywhere can thrive.
Why this matters
For HelpAge, joining the GNAFCC is an opportunity to connect with a global community of like-minded organisations, leaders and experts who are driving change on age-friendly environments. It gives us access to knowledge, innovations and evidence on what works, while allowing us to share our own experience of supporting older people and communities around the world.
About the GNAFCC
The WHO Global Network for Age-Friendly Cities and Communities brings together cities and communities worldwide that are committed to becoming more age-friendly. It stimulates and supports action by:
- inspiring change,
- connecting members to share knowledge and experience, and
- providing access to innovative, evidence-based solutions.
The network currently includes 1739 cities and communities in 57 countries, covering over 370 million people worldwide.
