We are currently seeking a Humanitarian Programme Manager Cash to join the team to respond to large and medium scale humanitarian crises, and to support and manage cash transfers programming in emergency responses to humanitarian crises.
Working in HelpAge International’s London-based humanitarian team, you will work closely with regional and country teams and partners to initiate and implement emergency responses to humanitarian crises. You will also advise and support on strategies and activities for cash assistance including identifying vulnerable older people for assistance, needs assessment, programme design and monitoring. It is expected that you will build and strengthen the capacity amongst HelpAge staff and partners to deliver HelpAge’s humanitarian response and cash programming.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience expected
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience of developing and implementing innovative cash programmes in humanitarian contexts including conflicts and natural disasters. You will be able to create and maintain external networks with organisations and institutions. You will also be able and willing to travel up to 200 days per year, sometimes at short notice, and to live in difficult environments when necessary. You will have experience in providing technical advice and support to emergency and recovery programmes, including needs assessments, programme design & monitoring and evaluation.
The ability to work in one or more of French, Spanish or Arabic would be a significant advantage.
