The post-holder will be responsible for supporting the development; successful implementation and monitoring of the Sudan programme fundraising and donor diversity strategy and in coordination with the Country Director, prepare, monitor and drive the implementation of a HelpAge Sudan fundraising strategy, in line with the Programme Strategy. This will be achieved by researching and identifying new in-country and regional donor opportunities and the preparation and maintenance of a register of donors, their development strategies, funding priorities and funding cycles. The job will require regular travel to Darfur, often in arduous conditions.

As well as having a degree level education or equivalent in experience, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully planning, writing, reviewing, and presenting project proposals, formal applications and donor reports. They will have direct experience of representing organisations in meetings with donors, Government officials and project partners, and demonstrable knowledge and experience of developing and monitoring complex multi-donor budgets. Fluency in English and excellent communication skills are essential for this role. Experience of working in Sudan and/or an understanding of the recent political developments in the country and experience of living and/or working in insecure environments is highly desirable.
