HelpAge International in Uganda seeks to recruit a Project Officer based in Kampala but with frequent travels to project areas. The incumbent will will lead the management and implementation of project entitled: “Towards more effective and accountable social protection systems for income security in older age” which focuses on community level accountability by building the capacity of grassroots Older People’s Associations (OPAs) to generate systematic evidence on the effectiveness and reach of existing social protection programmes in Uganda.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in development studies, social work or related field with at least three years’ experience in working on social protection and safety net programmes. S/he will have good knowledge of civil society sector in Uganda, experience in delivery training at community level and have a high level of critical thinking. Ability to build strong networks both on emergency and development work as well as ability to negotiate and communicate clearly are essential to this role.
