We strive to improve older people's lives across Eastern Europe and Central Asia by helping them overcome poverty, giving them access to health and care and advocating governments for better pensions.
We make sure older people's needs are met in emergencies, especially during the region's extremely cold winters.
Where we work in Eastern Europe and Central Asia
We have three HelpAge International offices working across the region, and we also reach out to older people through organisations in the HelpAge global network.
Across Kyrgyztan we help older people secure better incomes, access treatment for non-communicable diseases like diabetes, and advocate on older people's rights.
We provide support to women who have been victims of domestic violence and give older people access to home-based care.
As conflict threatens communities in eastern Ukraine, many people have fled west. Older people make up many of those left behind and we are making sure they get the help they need.
