Kulumkan Shabdanbekova
Kulumkan Shabdanbekova is 62 and has six children and ten grandchildren. She is the director of a NGO which improves the lives of vulnerable rural people and has set up a centre to provide legal support for older people.
This year she represented older people who signed the Age Demands Action petition at the Open-ended Working Group on Ageing held in New York.
Kulumkan believes that "governments need to take measures to stop age discrimination. With ADA we can help them to change the lives of older people for the better."
