DEC video on HelpAge's work in Haiti

Six months on from the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti, the UK Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) has released a series of videos showing the work that has been done with the money raised by the public.

So far, the DEC has raised £101 million which has up until now funded emergency assistance to 1.2 million people. Age UK, HelpAge's sister organisation, is a member of the DEC.

Watch the video below to see what HelpAge is doing in Haiti.

Older people have particular needs and vulnerabilities during emergency situations. However, as highlighted in the video, they are also amazingly resilient and want to be part of their country's reconstruction.

We believe older people must be included in recovery programmes. We will help them to get back on their feet as soon as possible so they can make the contributions they are capable of.
