HelpAge International works through a regional development centre, based in La Paz, Bolivia, and has 10 affiliates in the region.

The regional centre also works on projects with partners in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Peru.

With the help of partners and affiliates HelpAge International runs a number of projects designed to increase the security and participation by older people.

These range from projects to help older people influence the media to training older people in urban farming to supplement their income.
