Older people in Latin America are often unaware of their rights to healthcare or pensions.

What's happened in 2008?

HelpAge International in Latin America is working with the National Association of Older People in Panama. They formed a delegation of older people who met with the Minister of Health.

The key issues that the delegation raised covered the following themes:

  • social protection
  • health
  • livelihoods
  • disaster risk reduction.

Further details of the meeting will be available shortly.
