The Hospice Miloserdie Association, HelpAge International's partner in Bulgaria, are taking part in the Age Demands Action campaign for the first time this year.
What's planned for 2008?
The Age Demands Action Bulgaria delegation is planning to meet with both national and local leaders. These will include the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and city councillors in Sofia, Varna, Dryanovo, Rousse and Gabrovo.
They will ask that the government commits to:
- regular increases in pension rates in line with inflation
- improved access to social services for older people.
