G20 funding must deliver social security for world's poor
Responding to the G20 announcement to make $750bn available to the IMF to assist emerging and developing countries, HelpAge International is urging for funding to be used to build social security schemes that put money directly into the hands of the world’s poor and deliver long-term income security.

HelpAge International steps up Myanmar response
HelpAge International is supporting the efforts of the YMCA to bring relief to those affected by Cyclone Nargis.
Some 3,000 people have already been reached in the districts of Hlaingtharya, Bogalay and Labutta, where the YMCA has set up three community kitchens and is providing health check-ups and basic medicines.

HelpAge urges action on older women's rights in Tanzania
HelpAge International, the global network striving for the rights of disadvantaged older people, has submitted evidence to the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) to highlight violations of older women’s rights in Tanzania and make recommendations for government action.
