Our partner, Help the Aged, is a member of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC). The DEC is an umbrella organisation that launches and manages national appeals in response to major international humanitarian disasters, on behalf of 13 of the UK's lead aid agencies.
Help the Aged works through HelpAge International and our partners to implement disaster-relief and development programmes funded by the DEC.
Currently, we are using DEC funds to provide practical and emotional support to older people affected by the conflict in Darfur, the Indian Ocean tsunami and the South Asian earthquake.
