As a network of affiliates, HelpAge International is able to share best practice on ageing and development issues, and gather evidence from around the world to support advocacy work at local, national and international levels.

Organisations affiliated to HelpAge International benefit from links with other affiliates, contact with a HelpAge International regional office, and regular information and publications.

Affiliates play a key role in governing HelpAge International, with representatives holding at least six of the twelve seats on the board of trustees.

How to become an affiliate

Affiliation is open to any bona fide organisation working at international, regional, national or local level on issues of individual or population ageing. Organisations should be able to demonstrate capacity in research, advocacy, capacity-building or programming with, and for, older people.

Organisations interested in applying for affiliation should contact the regional development centre for their region or the director of development in the London office if they are based elsewhere.

“Uganda Reach the Aged Association draws the strength and capacity to support Ugandan older people from her unity with other affiliates under the HelpAge International network.”

Deborah Kaijuka, Chief Executive, Uganda Reach the Aged Association
